Ferromatik Milacron to introduce VITESSE at Packaging Theme Day

Injection molding machine manufacturer, Ferromatik Milacron, will stage the Packaging Theme Day on May 13 at its headquarters in Malterdingen, Germany. The new high-performance machine series VITESSE will be introduced to a selected group of exclusively invited packaging experts.

The VITESSE continues the story of the superfast high-performance injection molding machines from Ferromatik Milacron. The VITESSE is available with clamping forces of 2,000, 3,000, 4,000 and 5,000 kN, and with injection units of international size ranging from 1,000 to 4,400. The French word VITESSE stands for speed, which is precisely what makes this machine so outstanding. The electric screw drive of the VITESSE permits parallel functions, resulting in extremely short cycle times. The necessary stability for the high dynamics is supplied by a reinforced machine base with linear guides.

At the Packaging Theme Day three exhibits of the VITESSE will be seen in the process of producing packaging applications. A VITESSE 200 with 2,000 kN clamping force produces an egg box in a single-cavity AWM mold at a cycle time of 1.9 seconds. This exhibit will also be used to demonstrate Ferromatik Milacron's TELESERVICE for remote-maintenance of machines and optimization of production processes. A 72-cavity mold from KTW on a VITESSE 300 with a clamping force of 3,000 kN produces closures at a cycle time of 2.6 seconds. A VITESSE 400 with a clamping force of 4,000 kN is displayed as a manufacturing cell with an In-Mold-Labeling system from Star Automation. The machine produces bucket lids in a 2-cavity Abate Basilio mold with the In-Mold-Labeling process at a cycle time of 5 seconds.
