Guangdong gives paper-plastic composite a try for salt packaging

The authority in Guangdong Province of China reportedly announced recently soft launch of paper-plastic composite packaging for edible salt, effective for a year from July 1.
The availability of composite film packaged salt, which is blamed to be easily damaged and not environmentally friendly because of its non-recyclable nature, will continue at the same price in the meantime.
Compared to composite film package, paper-plastic composite ones not only provide greater hygiene, but also are environmentally friendly. However, they will lead to higher retail and wholesale prices by 30% and 23.6% respectively.
