Berry introduces food-grade LLDPE flexible films with PCR content
Berry Global introduces food-grade low-density polyethylene (LLDPE) films with at least 30% post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastic.
The new flexible film product is suitable for most food applications, targeting the bakery and frozen food markets.
End-use applications for the PCR-LLDPE films include stand-up pouches, premade bags and roll stock applications for both vertical form, fill, and seal (VFFS) and horizontal form, fill, and seal (HFFS) packaging.
Berry’s new food-grade film with PCR content can be applied to stand-up pouches.

The food-grade film with PCR contents has received the US Food and Drug Administration’s letter of no objection for its food-grade status. The company will source the mechanically recycled PCR from multiple vendors and manufacture the new film from many of its existing North American manufacturing locations.
