SGS extends Plastic Recycling Certification to India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka
SGS will offer EN15343 Plastics recycling traceability and assessment of conformity and recycled content product certification scheme across India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.

SGS will offer EN15343 standard to certify and trace recycled plastic content to India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.
The EN15343 standard establishes procedures to track and trace recycled plastic content used in product manufacturing. It provides certification of recycled plastic content and traceability of recycled plastic.
Certification of recycled plastic content is demonstrated by the percentage of recycled plastic material present in the final product while traceability of recycled plastic is demonstrated how recycled materials are properly sourced and treated.
The certification relates to a wide range of plastic consumer and industrial products made from mechanically recycled plastics, including PET sheets, PVC films, thermoforming products, electrical and electronic products, automotive, textile, hardlines, single use plastic packaging products and others.
The UNE-EN-15343 certification is required under Spain Law on 7/2022 on Excise Tax on Non-Reusable Plastic Packaging. It can be used for other European countries requesting the evidence for recycled content present in the imported plastic materials and products to reduce the tax liabilities.
