Syensqo and General Motors’ battery module wins Altair Enlighten Award
The hybrid battery module structure from General Motors, which utilizing Amodel polyphthalamide (PPA) from Syensqo, was awarded the 2024 Altair Enlighten Award in the Lightweight Module category.

With strategic part consolidation that eliminates the need for compression limiters, films and coatings found in conventional battery modules, the awarded battery module structure has a remarkable 37% weight reduction and 25% cost savings.
Amodel PPA features exceptional metal replacement capabilities, design flexibility, and durability across a broad temperature spectrum up to 280°C.
The Amodel HPP grade is manufactured at Syensqo’s Augusta, Georgia facility which uses 100% renewable electricity and is recyclable. The material is fully commercialized and available globally.
