swop 2024 ahead: Full coverage of hot topics in packaging

From November 18 to 20, Shanghai World of Packaging (swop) will take place at the Shanghai New International Expo Center, Shanghai, China, focusing on groundbreaking trends in the processing and packaging industry.

swop is hosted by Messe Düsseldorf (Shanghai), together with Adsale Exhibition Services, and is part of the portfolio of the interpack alliance.

 

Covering over five trade fair halls, this year’s swop attracted exhibitors from China, the United States, Germany, Taiwan, Japan, Spain, Finland and Luxembourg. The fair will cover the entire processing and packaging chain for food, beverages, confectionery, baked goods, pharma, cosmetics, non-food and industrial goods.

 

Six central industry trends will be focused, including:

 

  1. New technology and energy-efficient production lines

  2. Intelligent and automated packaging solutions

  3. Intelligent packaging solutions for food processing

  4. Sustainable and eco-friendly materials

  5. Innovative designs for Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG)

  6. Light-weight packaging solutions for e-commerce and logistics sector

 

Other programs and forums will also take place at swop. “International Pavilion” involves international exhibitors presenting their business. Some of which are first time in the Asian market, including Multivac, the Metsä Group, Herma, United Caps, Novexx, Koch Pac, Wippermann Jr., Langguth and Cintas Adhesivas Ubis.

 

“Buyer’s Perspective Experience” offers a range of services specially tailored to buyers’ needs with customised solutions and individual equipment.

 

Themed routes – such as “Green and Sustainable Packaging Route” and “Functional Packaging Route” – facilitate more efficient trade fair experience for both exhibitors and visitors.

 

Renowned experts will also provide a comprehensive overview of the changes in packaging legislation, at the national and international level. Discussions will focus on the EU PPWR regulation, PCR regulations for food contact materials and the latest developments in green packaging policy in Asia.

 

In addition, in cooperation with Made-in-China.com, a forum will be organized to focus on strategies for rapid entry into the transnational e-commerce market.
