DURABIO is a bioengineering plastic primarily made from plant-derived isosorbide. Compared to conventional polycarbonate resins, it features higher transparency and superior optical properties. Being plant-derived polymer, the material is also excellent in weather resistance and durability.
Honda has chosen DURABIO for its excellent properties as it achieves glossy, high-design finish by simply mixing colorants. This eliminates the coating process, which was previously required, and reducing volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions during manufacturing.
Mitsubishi Chemical will continue to provide high-value-added products by expanding the DURABIO portfolio.
