SABIC and Lenovo signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to explore opportunities for strategic collaboration that support industrial innovation.

The MoU establishes a framework for both companies to identify areas of mutual cooperation, leveraging their respective expertise to help accelerate the development of advanced industries and innovative technological capabilities in Saudi Arabia and beyond.

“The Kingdom is undergoing a significant industrial transformation, and partnerships such as this can play an important role in accelerating the development of advanced capabilities, fostering knowledge exchange, and creating new opportunities for sustainable economic growth,” commented Eng. The MoU signing ceremony was held on September 1 on the sidelines of the LEAP Tech Conference in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The MoU reflects the shared commitment of both companies to support the Kingdom's transformation into a global hub for innovation and advanced industry.

Through the collaboration, SABIC and Lenovo will explore opportunities to combine their expertise and capabilities in areas that contribute to industrial development, knowledge transfer, and technological advancement.

“Through this MoU, Lenovo and SABIC will explore opportunities to bring together our respective strengths and global expertise to support industrial innovation and contribute to the Kingdom's long-term development ambitions,” said Tareq Alangari, Lenovo President, Middle East, Türkiye, Africa.

Strengthening Lenovo’s presence in Saudi Arabia

The collaboration aligns with Lenovo's ongoing commitment to Saudi Arabia and complements the company's growing investments across the Kingdom.

Lenovo continues to expand its presence in the Kingdom, having opened its regional headquarters in Riyadh this year, while advancing plans to establish research and development and manufacturing facilities.

These investments are intended to strengthen local capabilities, accelerate knowledge transfer and research activities, and provide opportunities for Saudi talent to develop expertise in engineering, advanced manufacturing, and emerging technologies.
