“HyCAP 4.0 tooling represents the next evolution of closure manufacturing, enabling brands and producers to achieve lightweight designs, operational flexibility, and higher overall equipment effectiveness while delivering the productivity, quality, and low part costs expected from Husky technology,” commented Dave Morton, Husky’s Executive Vice President, Business Development.

Optimized for next-generation closure design

HyCAP 4.0 tooling is ideal for ultra-lightweight and tethered closure designs. The platform delivers the precision and process control needed to produce complex closure features at high production speeds. Lightweighting reduces material use while maintaining closure functionality and reliability.

As tethered closure regulations expand across markets, manufacturers require tooling that adapts to changing demands without significant capital reinvestment. HyCAP 4.0 tooling supports both tethered and non-tethered closure applications, enabling producers to respond to regulatory changes and market demands while minimizing operational disruption.

Enhanced durability

As durability is key in high-volume closure production, HyCAP 4.0 tooling incorporates advanced materials and an optimized stack design to extend mold life.

One key innovation is the integration of polymer bushings, which reduces steel-to-steel contact between critical core components. This enhancement minimizes wear, reduces the risk of mechanical failure, and maintains consistent performance over millions of production cycles, extending preventive maintenance intervals, and improving long-term system reliability.

Maximizing productivity and operational efficiency

HyCAP 4.0 tooling optimizes key production metrics like cycle time, uptime, and maintenance efficiency. Increased tooling stability and simplified servicing enable manufacturers to maximize output and reduce operational interruptions, and support consistent performance in high-volume production.

By combining precision, durability, flexibility, and efficiency, the platform enables manufacturers to produce high-quality beverage closures while meeting sustainability goals and future regulatory requirements.
