Packaging value chain launches Indonesia Circular Packaging Platform
At the Indonesia International Sustainability Forum (ISF) 2026, organizations across the packaging value chain launched the Indonesia Circular Packaging Platform. This industry-led initiative aims to accelerate the country’s transition to circular packaging by connecting innovation, investment and market adoption.

Organizations across packaging value chain launched the Indonesia Circular Packaging Platform.
Lubrizol, a specialty chemicals company with a portfolio that includes materials and technologies for packaging applications, is collaborating with Sirsak, an Indonesian packaging recovery and waste-traceability company; Unilever Indonesia and Danone Indonesia, leading consumer goods companies; and APP Group, a global pulp, paper and packaging producer.
Together, the organizations will help move sustainable packaging solutions from technical viability to commercial scale.
Initial priorities include sustainable packaging innovation, circular collection and recovery, transition financing, and consumer and supply-chain adoption.
“Indonesia has no shortage of innovation. By connecting expertise across the value chain, we can help proven technologies scale and deliver economic and environmental value,” said Audist Subekti, Indonesia Country Manager, Lubrizol.
The launch followed an ISF panel on building Indonesia as a regional hub for circular materials and sustainable manufacturing. Government official, Emmy Suryandari, and industry leaders discussed solutions spanning packaging design, advanced materials, manufacturing, collection and recovery, as well as addressed barriers including cost, manufacturing readiness, financing, recovery infrastructure and market demand.
