Zhifan Plastic Materials: Liquid black color paste that stops pitting in PVC recyclate

Nov 3, 2026

Black powder carbon black tints strongly and costs little, but it creates problems from the moment a bag is opened. Dry powder dusts the workshop and exposes operators; more seriously, it disperses poorly in PVC compound, so recycled pellets come out with fine surface particles and dull gloss, and the extrusion or injection parts made from them show pitting — enough to fail a batch. Recyclers have tried longer mixing times and different mixing equipment; neither addresses the cause.

Suzhou Zhifan Plastic Material Co., Ltd. (志帆塑胶) was founded in 2005 in Luzhi, Suzhou, and works specifically on coloring for PVC recycling. The company states it is the first in China to develop and produce an eco-friendly black paste for PVC pellet production.

The company holds several process and equipment improvement patents, ISO 9001 certification, and recognition as a national-level technology-based SME, a Jiangsu provincial specialized and sophisticated SME, and a high-tech enterprise.

Why general masterbatch falls short

Color masterbatch and general color paste are formulated around virgin resin. Waste PVC varies in composition and fluctuates batch to batch, with production conditions that shift as feedstock changes — conditions general-purpose products were not designed for, and a recurring source of quality problems in recycling plants.

When PVC recycling expanded from 2005, the industry's suppliers concentrated on equipment, recovered feedstock, and general masterbatch; dedicated coloring for recycled production remained a gap.

ZFP-555 liquid black color paste

The company's main product is ZFP-555, a liquid-formulation black paste for PVC pellet lines:

‧ Dust-free feeding: liquid dosing eliminates dry powder dust, reducing workshop build-up and equipment wear, and easing environmental and occupational-health management.

‧ Dispersion: addresses the agglomeration and uneven mixing of dry carbon black, giving uniform blackness and reducing pitting, surface particles, dullness, and color variation.

‧ Compliance: SGS tested against RoHS, REACH, PAHs, and Norway's POHS, with documentation for higher-specification supply chains.

‧ Coverage: soft and rigid PVC recycling, with 1–3 kg trial packs for line trials and bulk packaging for continuous production.

The paste is built on high-pigment carbon black sourced from Japan, the US, and Korea, dispersed and milled with plasticizers and functional additives under high shear.

Technical support

Because recycled feedstock varies, fixed process settings rarely suit every line. Zhifan adjusts dosing method, addition ratio, and mixing parameters to the customer's material, equipment, and process, rather than delivering product alone. The company holds import-export rights, supplies domestic recycling clusters, and exports.

Recycling
A pelletizing line's output depends on more than its extruder. Feeding, strand cutting, dewatering, and drying interact, and a weak link in any stage shows up in pellet quality and line stability.
