Netstal's medical technology applications showed at Equiplast 2008

Source: Date :2008-11-03 Editor :(ACH)
During Equiplast 2008, a plastics trade fair held from October 20 to 24 in Barcelona, Spain, Netstal-Maschinen AG, the Swiss injection molding machine maker, presented its all-electric ELION injection molding machine and demonstrated its wide range of medical technology applications.

Netstal demonstrated a medical technology application that is typical for the ELION 800-270. Using a 32-cavity mold from Swiss company Tanner, the machine produced pipettes made of Lyondellbasel polypropylene under clean room conditions in a cycle time of barely 6 seconds. The parts were subsequently removed using a handling system from the German company Ilsemann. Another German-based company, Motan, provided the raw material feed equipment, while the temperature control system was from HB.Therm in Switzerland.

The advantage of having features such as an encapsulated and water-cooled electric motor, which ensures emission-free operation, means that the all-electric ELION is suited for use in clean room conditions. In addition, the range boasts enormous energy saving potential by recycling clamping unit brake energy within an intermediate circuit (recuperation), which can cut energy costs by up to 50%.

Another focal point of the Netstal-Maschinen AG stand at Equiplast was its system expertise in application and production technology consulting. Under the umbrella brand "Netstal Support Concept", Netstal specialists safeguard efficient production by providing 24/7 support to customers all over the world. Netstal also supports customers throughout their entire projects and, as a system supplier, can provide complete and turnkey systems upon customer request.
