Li Auto celebrates inhouse-developed CFRT rolls off production line

The inhouse-developed CFRT (carbon fiber reinforced thermoplastic) by Li Auto successfully rolls off production line. A ceremony was held at Röchling’s Kunshan plant to celebrate this achievement, marking the huge step in the local production of CFRT in lightweight automotive applications and development.

Co-developer in the project, including Li Auto, Röchling, Ningbo Freco, as well as leaders from China Society of Automotive Engineers and China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, have joined this celebration.

 

The application is fuel tank bottom protection. Li Auto is responsible for design and optimizing the solution, while Ningbo Freco supplies FRECOMP CFRT sheet and Röchling processes the part.

 

Using molding process, the part offers outstanding puncture resistance to enhance safety in Li Auto’s vehicles.

Ningbo Freco focuses on the R&D and industrial application of CFRT composites. CFRT composite sheet is the major product which is widely applied in automotive, 3C electronics and sports equipment.
