Magic develops cellulose-based airlaid for dry molding

Jun 2, 2025

Magic developed PulpForm – a new cellulose-based airlaid that is compostable and thermoformable, and can be dry-molded – for sustainable packaging.

Magic’s PulpForm, a new cellulose-based airlaid, for sustainable packaging.

PulpForm can be dry-molded to create high-protection, structured packaging without the use of water. Unlike traditional wet-molding technology, which consumes large amounts of water and requires long drying times, dry-molding stands out for its energy efficiency, faster production cycles, and significantly lower environmental impact.

Made entirely from natural fibers, PulpForm is biodegradable and compostable. It is engineered for packaging applications in various industries, from protective logistics to food, cosmetics and medical packaging.

With excellent mechanical strength, adaptable formability, and compatibility with printing and customization, PulpForm offers a concrete alternative to rigid plastics and conventional paper-based materials.

Magic also offers Spongel, a biodegradable and compostable super absorbent powder, and eco-sustainable airlaid Airgel g-grade.
