Two Arburg products and two projects in which Arburg was involved with partners received awards in the “Product of the Year 2026” competition organized by the German trade magazines PolyFormNEXT and Industrial Production.

The awarded products and projects are:

  • The Allrounder Trend electric injection molding machine

  • The Gestica lite control system

  • “NextGen Medical Solution” digital production cell (developed in close cooperation with Hack Formenbau and HB-Therm)

  • Joint project “Domino” (submitted by Hasco and Polar-Form)

Dr Volker Nilles, CEO of Arburg, accepted the awards at the joint award ceremony held by the trade magazines on March 5 at the Seehaus in Munich's English Garden.

“With four awards, we have impressively demonstrated our high level of innovation, customer focus and solution expertise. Together with our partners, these awards give us strong impetus for the entire plastics industry worldwide. Customers benefit from practical ideas that can be implemented directly in daily production and set new technical and economic standards now and for the future,” said Nilles.

Allrounder Trend: First place in “Production” category

In the PolyFormNext competition, the Allrounder Trend took first place in the “Production”" category. The new electric machines have been completely redesigned with a focus on high efficiency and low investment and operating costs, as well as a fast return on investment (ROI) and low total cost of ownership (TCO).

Gestica lite control system: Top spot in the Peripheral Equipment category

Also in the PolyFormNext competition, Arburg also took top spot in the Peripheral Equipment category for its new Gestica lite. This basic control system with an intuitive user interface features a clear dashboard and high ease of use, an important aspect in view of the increasing shortage of skilled workers.

Joint project “Domino”: Wins the tool and mold making category

The joint project “Domino”, submitted by Hasco and Polar-Form, won in the tool and mold making category. With the help of a 3D-printed hot runner system from Hasco, a 32-cavity family mold from Polarform and a two-component Allrounder More 2000, 32 two-color dominoes were produced in a single step. With this application, the three partners demonstrated how new mold concepts can significantly increase cost-effectiveness.

“NextGen Medical Solution” digital production cell: Second place in Industrial Production award

Arburg took second place for another cooperation project, the “NextGen Medical Solution” digital production cell, in the “Automation, Digitalization and Interlinkage” category of Industrial Production award.

The turnkey system was developed in close cooperation between Arburg (injection molding technology), Hack Formenbau (mold technology) and HB-Therm (temperature control technology) and impresses with its cost efficiency, low energy and space requirement, simple operation, high availability, productivity and component quality.

The requirement-specific selection and configuration of the machine, mold, peripheral equipment and material in collaboration with the OEM involved not only led to significantly reduced total costs (TCO), but also to a faster time to production and enabling approval for use in pharmaceutical production (parametric release).

This was also achieved through the digital interlinkage of the injection molding machine, tool, automation and peripheral equipment, as well as numerous intelligent functions integrated into the Gestica control system.
