LANXESS introduces sustainable antioxidant for sustainable, longer-lasting tires
LANXESS introduces the new rubber additive made from 55% sustainable raw materials – Vulkanox HS Scopeblue – for more sustainable and longer-lasting tires.

Vulkanox HS Scopeblue rubber additive from LANXESS.
The new antidegradant is the sustainable variant of the proven antioxidant Vulkanox HS (TMQ), which effectively protect tires from adverse effect of oxygen and heat. The additive also features low volatility and low migration tendency.
The overall chemical structure of Vulkanox HS Scopeblue remains unchanged. It can be used as drop-in solution with no modifications required to the tire manufacturing process for more sustainable tires.
As the new Vulkanox HS Scopeblue uses biocircular acetone and renewable energy in production, its carbon footprint is more than 30% lower than conventionally manufactured product. The mass-balanced product is manufactured in an ISCC PLUS-certified plant in Germany.
The new, sustainable additive is marketed under the LANXESS Scopeblue label, which stands for products with a particularly low carbon footprint or a high proportion of circular raw materials.
